Samepad for Chrome

The extension is a capture layer for your Samepad account. It saves what you tell it to save, and nothing else.

Last updated September 29, 2026

What stays on your device

  • Your Samepad key, the email and username it belongs to, and your panel preferences are saved in Chrome's extension storage on this browser only.
  • Sticky notes you pin to a site are saved on this browser under that site's address, so they reappear there.
  • Click Forget in the popup to erase your key.

What is sent to Samepad

  • Only what you choose to save: text you type in the popup or floating panel, text you select and save, a section you pick, or a page you save from the right-click menu.
  • With each capture, the title and address of the page you saved it from, so you can see where the idea came from.
  • Requests go to samepad.app over HTTPS, signed with your key, and land in your private Samepad history.

AI actions

  • Proofread, Improve, and Generate run only when you pick them from the right-click menu. The selected text is sent to Samepad, which passes it to our AI provider to write the result. Samepad does not use it to train models.

What we never do

  • No browsing history, no tracking of the pages you visit, no analytics or ads in the extension.
  • The extension reads a page only when you ask it to save that page or a part of it.
  • We do not sell your data or share it with third parties, apart from the AI provider for actions you start.
  • The extension runs only the code in its package. It never downloads or runs remote code.

Your control

  • Edit or delete any capture in Samepad at any time.
  • Remove the extension from chrome://extensions to delete everything it stored on your device.
  • To delete your account and all captures, email support@samepad.com.
