The first time, load the folder it prints in Chrome (Extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked) and paste your key. After that, run the same line to update: it finds your Samepad folder and Samepad reloads itself. Tap Ctrl twice on any page to capture.

Needs the code or cursor shell command on PATH. Uses the same ~/.config/samepad/config.json as the terminal — paste a key once in either place. Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+M captures an idea; select code and right-click to save a snippet with the file and line.

After that, run samepad for interactive mode (menu stays next to the prompt), samepad coffee with Sam for a one-shot capture, or samepad edit 1 to rewrite a recent capture. See samepad help. To remove it: samepad uninstall.

Open ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (Settings → Developer → Edit Config creates it if it doesn't exist yet), merge this in under mcpServers, then fully restart Claude Desktop.

Using Claude on the web or the Claude app on mobile? Add it as a custom connector instead: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, with this same URL and Authorization header.

Claude Desktop and Cursor can attach samepad://recent or samepad://active to a prompt directly — no tool call spent just to check what you've been capturing.

Turn an idea into work, in one command

Jot an idea anywhere, then run /mcp__samepad__resolve in Claude Code (or pick the resolve prompt in Cursor). Your AI picks up your latest idea, does the work, and files a receipt back on it. Use research instead for prior art and market findings. Make the idea public and its link unfurls as a card showing what was built.
